So there was no May Book Club this past month. There was only one that anyone and everyone needed to read last month and it was Give Them Lala! Of course I downloaded it on my Kindle the day it came out so I could read it right away. She became my favorite the second she started on VanderPump Rules. I literally couldn’t get enough of her. Don’t get me wrong I still Loved Stassi and her style and was awaiting her comeback but LaLa became my new favorite real quick.
What solidified my love for her was when the crew went to Hawaii or Mexico (when Jax stole the sunglasses) and everyone was picking on LaLa (even though her friend was doing the same exact things) and she went in her room and said something along the lines of “I want to be alone. All I want is my mom!” That moment on I knew she was my soul mate LOL We’re also pretty much the same age, we’re both Virgos, we like Tupac and we both have an ‘alter ego’ hers being ‘Give them LaLa and mine being Tay Tay Rose!
Anyway, this book really gives you a better look at her life and her background. I feel like on the show she comes off as a very tough and aggressive person but really she’s so nice and would do anything for her friends. She was bullied growing up and then came on the show and was immediately bullied for in my opinion being pretty… I loved reading the background of what was going on while she was filming (even if it meant following her home to Utah to be with her mom instead of a yacht in Italy). Her relationship with James, the on-again-off-again boyfriend and then Rand (swoon LOL). Everything made so much sense and made me love her even more!
Obviously once she came out to dating him and became more open with the other cast members some details would come out, along with interviews she’s done and her podcast but what good is an autobiography if you’re not gonna spill ALL the tea?! & that she did, about herself, she’s never been one to run her mouth about other people–to other people yes–, which I’ve always liked about her. Even her journey to sobriety was inspiring although I do love my pinot grigio and tequila. I admire her for becoming sober and growing from it and telling her story to hopefully inspire others to take control of their lives, as well.
I definitely recommend this book whether you love her, hate her or don’t know who the hell I’m talking about!
That’s all…xoxoTay!
