I have to say this weekend was so much fun, even though it was WAAAAY too short. We packed so many things into 1 ½ days…
1st things first we left for Virginia at 4.00p on Friday…I work til 3 & Max had work to do, as well, so he didn’t finish til 2.30p anyway. After work I grabbed my little brother (who I will refer to as Jr.) from my mom’s, who bought soooo many snacks for the road (she’s the best) & headed to my apartment to pack! Thankfully Max had last minute packing to do, too & showering…
Then we were on our way (after we stopped for gas & Starbucks) til we saw a sign for Krispy Kreme doughnuts in Erie, PA aka 2 hours into the drive…Did you know they give you a free doughnut (sample) when you walk in??Anyway, we made it to Virginia at 11.30p that night, exhausted and ready for bed!
The next morning Max & I woke up and went to the gym. On the way Max wants to know where the closest McDonald’s is because he needs to eat before he can work out. I CAN’T! McDonald’s…come on. So, I tell him where the closest one is and thankfully it was replaced with something else I’ve never heard of, but whatever, at least no McDonald’s. So, he settles for a protein shake after his workout and we grab breakfast from Einstein Bagels for the house (we stayed with my aunt Kelly and her husband, Chip) and start our day.
My cousin, McKenzie has now joined the fun so we headed down to Old Town Alexandria. 1st stop: my old job Francesca’s to visit my old boss, Monica. She’s the best #girlboss. Then we grabbed lunch in Alexandria & did a little shopping before we headed back to the house. There we snacked on all the leftover road trip candies, made frozen pizzas, drank wine & played games til it was time for bed.
Sunday, we woke up late (thanks a lot daylight savings) grab breakfast (Einstein bagels, again, my favorite) and get ready for the day. Today is short because we only have half a day and have to get back on the road to NY… We decided to go to the National Harbor in Maryland because Max has never been there before (even when I lived there I never took him…I just loved Georgetown). We went on the Ferris wheel with a great view of D.C. & grabbed lunch/dinner at the harbor before we had to leave.
I was so bummed to leave, I love Virginia/D.C., but 7 hour road trip here we come…
How was your weekend??
No Food Diary this post, I just couldn’t keep track!
That’s all…xx Tay!
