The hardest time of year to stay on track with a healthy lifestyle is definitely the holidays! How can you say no to homemade cookies??! I can’t. So here are my tips to staying on track during the holidays:
1. Have a routine!
A routine is KEY to staying on track. If you have set times and days that you know you’re going to work out and stick with it then you will feel accountable for not missing a workout and if you do you can just hop right back on the track the next day!
2. Drink a lot of water!
This is an obvious one. You should always be staying hydrated. Make sure you’re also having a drink of water in between every holiday mixed drink or glass of wine!
3. Bring healthy snacks to work!
How hard is it to resist the left over brownies & cookies that your coworkers don’t want tempting them at their own houses??! HARD! If you have your own alternative snacks to help settle those cravings you’ll be less tempted to dive into the plate of cookies calling your name!
4. Have a partner in crime!
Get a friend or boo thang on track with you. I recruited Max..aha! Yes, he is ready to ride the healthy train with me this holiday season. Although, he hasn’t been drinking water in between Blue Lights…aha! We have made an effort to eat out less & cook in more!
5. Don’t be afraid to say NO!
Sure everyone else might want a second or third slice of pie or an extra shot at the bar but it’s also okay if you don’t. I met Max & his friends out yesterday (who are the royal family of drinking) & I drank water the entire time with the occasional exceptions of a few shots! If I don’t want to eat something bad I won’t & if I don’t want to drink something I won’t. All you have to say is I don’t feel like it!
I hope these tips help. If you have any more for me please leave in the comments!
Happy Friday & Happy Healthy Holidays!
That’s all…xxTay!
