Tell yourself you are going to work out every day. YES, 7 days a week! Why??!
Because shit comes up!
I know for myself, I tell myself I’m going to work out after work & then I get home & Max bought tickets to a new movie. How many times have you told yourself you were going to your favorite spin class & you go to sign up & all the bikes are taken & you just go to happy hour instead??!
Because shit comes up!
I always try to plan my workouts in the morning. This way if I want to make plans after work I can without feeling like I skipped out on me time. Yes, working out is me time! It’s 20-90 minutes (okay 90 minutes happens very very rarely..aha) of me taking care of me! If I don’t work out in the morning it is rare that I work out after work especially now that I work a 9-5.
Now that the holidays are here, there is so much shit that comes up. Whether it’s last minute Christmas shopping, a holiday party or an ice skating event in the city! I don’t want to miss out on any Holiday activities because I couldn’t get up an hour earlier & get in a quick workout!
Even if you think you have no plans & you can squeeze in your workout later, I’m sure something will slip its way into your calendar!
The concept of telling yourself you are going to work out every day is so that you don’t feel bad if you do miss a day or two because that’s probably your schedule anyway. If you say you’re going to work out Monday Tuesday Thursday & Saturday, whose saying you will actually fit it in all those days. So if you already gave yourself days off you don’t have any wiggle room to miss a workout you have planned. Missing a workout just happens…
Because shit comes up!
Always tell yourself you will work out every day. Even if you have set days you meet with a trainer or go to your favorite barre class leave room for days you will work out on your own!
I’m telling you it helps & if you end up not missing a workout, you actually hit your goal! & can enjoy the extra time with family & maybe an extra Christmas cookie…I’ve literally had 6 today!
Happy Holidays!
That’s all..xxTay!
