Looks like spring is still a ways away & it’s still super hard to get motivated to leave the house & go to the gym. I’ve been setting my alarm, leaving out my outfit & putting a water bottle in the fridge every night but I still can’t wake up!
I have, however, been able to wake up with just enough time for a quick at home work out. One or two YouTube videos & sometimes I even have time to get on my bike!
This week, however, it wasn’t happening for me…spring forward is a nightmare and I haven’t worked out once since…that cycling class with Max. I’ve been telling myself that I want to sweat everyday even if it’s only for 20 minutes & it’s been so hard for me.
So this post is an accountability post to get myself back into gear. I just feel soft and gross & need to start motivating myself to get up and go!
Some people can’t get motivated to do at home workouts; my cousin & I were discussing this the other night. When I lived in Virginia, Alison came to stay with me for a week & I wasn’t a member of any gym there so she would do my home workouts with me. The other night she admitted that she can’t motivate herself to do home workouts because she doesn’t feel like she’s getting a workout.
If you’re a gym shark more power to you but sometimes I just can’t get myself to pack everything up & leave my apartment while the sky is still black. If you’re like me or are a beginning & a little intimidated by the gym, keep reading!
Here’s what you’ll need to set up your own at home gym:
Yoga Mat: The most basic of all the equipment you’ll need but will probably be the most used!
Kettle bell: Favorite piece of equipment to go along with some of the best workouts!
Weights: Get a couple different sets for different workouts!
Booty bands: You can incorporate these in any workout & they come in different resistances!
Balancing ball: This is perfect for working on your abs while watching TV!
Exercise bike/treadmill/elliptical: Depending on how much you want to splurge on your home gym one of these would be great to have for quick cardio sessions. If not, HIIT workouts are great & so many are available on YouTube. You could also go for a walk or run around the neighborhood, depending on the weather!
Regardless if I’m at the gym or in my living room, as long as I sweat for at least 30 minutes I feel accomplished! Hopefully they help!
Happy Friday!
That’s all…xxTay!
