In high school I used to always do little toning moves on the living room floor while watching Gossip Girl or reruns of The OC & Laguna Beach. I was always moving when I was younger even if it meant just doing crunches in front of the TV while my cousins sat on the couch watching Full House! Sometimes they would even join me!
Now, not the same story. I’ve recently started getting back into my oooold habits, though! I also have a super soft rug that I bought when Max & I moved into our new apartment, so it’s not the worst thing to kneel on while doing fire hydrants…which are actually THE WORST! I just put on whatever I recorded that week or a makeup tutorial & do about 5 different moves 3 times. Before you know it you’re ass is on fire & caught up on the latest Vanderpump Rules!
Here are some of my favorite ab moves that I TRY to do about 3 times a week:
Crunches!
Yes, basic I know but very effective. Add these to any workout 3 days a week & I’m sure you’ll see some definition peaking out of your high rise jeggings! Just don’t pull your neck, I like to cross my arms over my chest.
Heel Touches!
These are actually my favorites. Don’t ask me why, I just really like doing them!
Toe Touches!
This is actually another move I really like doing because it’s so hard by the second round!
Russian Twists!
Okay, I lied, these are actually my favorite! I always do this move & love adding a little bit of weight, like a 5lb dumbbell. You don’ have to use a weight at all, though, to get results. Whatever works for you, it’s your workout & your body!
Planks!
The actual worst but 60 seconds flies by, when you can’t stop wondering what the fight was about if “it’s not about the pasta!”
Fire Hydrants!
Like I said before, THE WORST, but GIRL, do they hurt so good!
Squats!
As basic as you can get next to crunches but again, EFFECTIVE! You can also do variations of squats like plie squats, curtsy squats, jump squats or squats with a leg lift! Mix it up!
Bridges!
It’s hard to watch TV doing these but they really burn the booty, especially when you start to pulse! You just gotta breathe through it!
Inner Thigh Leg Lifts!
This was my favorite move in high school & still holds true to my heart. The only thing I don’t like about doing one leg at a time is when you hit the count you have to switch sides & KEEP GOING!
Lunges!
These are the biggest booty burner I know. I LOVE doing lunges until the next day when I can’t walk up the stairs or squat down to pee… But I never regret a workout & neither will you!
