Now this is a struggle! I definitely don’t succeed at his as often as I’d like but when I know I have a packed week where I want to look presentable I follow these tips!
-Take Care of Your Skin:
OMG…THIS! If you have a good base, your make-up goes on smoother & looks better when complete. I haven’t been wearing make-up as much as I used to & it’s making me more comfortable in my own skin. I don’t feel like I need to be wearing make-up as much as I once did. When I do wear make-up I feel more put together but when I don’t, I don’t feel like a homeless wreck, anymore!
*I’m still working on my skin, I’ll always get the hormonal pimples, it’s just life!
-Do Your Make Up:
If you are getting dressed up & going all out, why not try out a new beauty look from Carli Bybel or SMLx0?? I’m not saying you have to wear make-up everyday to look good but sometimes a little highlight & mascara just complete a look, ya know??
-Get as Much as You Can Done the Night Before:
*Hair-if you do your hair the night before you won’t have to rush around in the morning spending time drying or styling your hair. Also, you won’t have to worry about sleeping in because at least you know you won’t be running out the door with Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone Hermione hair…believe me I’ve been there, a lot… Don’t have time to wash your hair & it’s past the dry shampoo helping phase? Pull your hair back into a sleek pony or top knot…who needs Botox when your hair is pulling your face up & back??
*Lunch-just one less thing you have to do in the morning or stress about during the day when you start getting super busy!
*Outfit-if you get this ready the night before you don’t have to worry about what might be in the hamper & what is still packed away from last year. Also, try it on. Sometimes you have an idea for an outfit & when you put it on it doesn’t look the same way it did on Serena Vanderwoodsen…
-Work Out:
I feel so much more confident when I work out. Even if it’s just the first day back at the gym, I feel so good after a workout. After a while my clothes start fitting better & I don’t feel sluggish. Feeling good in your skin & confident is the best thing you can do to look good everyday! Wearing cute gym clothes helps getting to the gym a little better, too!
-Put Outfits Together for the Week:
If you know you have a busy week coming up & there’s something going on every night put some looks together for everything. This way you don’t wear something one night that might have looked better for a different event! It also saves time the night of or morning of when you have other things to worry about besides what to wear tonight/tomorrow!
*if you’re an extreme planner, instead of doing it the night before, plan for the entire week on Sunday!
-Be Prepared:
Like Scar from The Lion King, be prepared! Aka. Don’t procrastinate. If you know you have a birthday dinner in two days, don’t wait ’til the last minute to get a shirt, a present, a spray tan…etc. Make the preparations before hand lining up to the dinner, spray tan Monday, nails Tuesday, gift Wednesday…etc.
*know what you’re doing, so you can plan accordingly.
-Make the Most Out of Your Accessories:
Accessories make an outfit! How often have you heard “this is a great piece, you can dress up or down?? Having good accessories can transform any outfit. A baseball cap can make and outfit more sporty, while a sun hat can make an outfit more glam!
-Invest in Good Basics:
This is a must! Your accessories can make an outfit, so if you have a white body suit tucked into a pair of shorts & wear a baseball cap & Chucks, your outfit is going to look more casual. If you wear a white body suit tucked into shorts with sandals & a sun hat, your outfit is going to look more put together.
*you can wear pieces more than once & if they’re good pieces they’ll last! Don’t get me wrong though, you don’t have to break the bank for good pieces that last!
-Dress Up:
Nothing says “Look Good Feel Good” like actually looking good. Dressing up, even if you’re just going to run errands will make you feel better & make you want to be seen. Whenever I dress nice, even if it’s just to Michael’s, after my errands are done I always want to go out & do something fun! I mean who doesn’t want to be Bella Hadid at the VS fashion show walking past her exe on a RUNWAY! Dress like a super model & you’ll feel like one!
