I got home last night after walking Russell & I realized I had nothing to eat besides bruised apples & almond butter. So I ate what I had & then I went to Trader Joe’s for a light grocery haul. I literally cringed as I grabbed a bag of kale & put it in my basket. I hate kale, it’s not good but it’s good for you.
Anyway I saw a recipe for kale chips on ToneItUp.com so I figured I’d test it out. I set the oven for 310 degrees (even though the instructions say 325, I read it wrong) & laid out my kale on a cookie sheet. I broke off most of the stems (make sure you break them all off) & mixed it with olive oil, taco seasoning, & turmeric.
Beware: I wasn’t thinking when I mixed the turmeric in but now my nails are dyed yellow!
Then I put it in the oven for 10 minutes, like the directions said. While those baked I made dinner to go with my kale chips & lunch for work today!
Once they were done I waited all of 4 seconds before I tried one & they were really freaking good…I definitely should have cooked them at 325 & maybe a little longer but like I said: Trial & Error!
Here’s the actual recipe if you’re interested in trying them out for yourself:
Kale Chips!
- They’re easy to make and so good!
- Chop or tear the kale into bite-sized pieces.
- Massage with a little olive oil.
- Add some sea salt and your favorite toppings! (We love nutritional yeast, turmeric, & red pepper flakes)
- Bake at 325° for about 10 mins (or until crispy).
Hope you enjoy! Kickball is tonight so I’m super pumped for that! We haven’t played since before Memorial Day, so hopefully it doesn’t rain & we don’t have to forfeit!
Happy Tuesday!
That’s all…xxTay!

I’m all about trial & error as well. I love baking chickpeas because they have a chip crunch but have protein & fiber too. :]
