Happy first day of winter! I’ve come up with 5 tips to get and stay motivated now that it’s officially winter and a lot of us are affected by seasonal depression. These are great year round, as well!
1. Stay off social media unless it’s intentional. If the accounts you follow don’t inspire you, unfollow or mute them. There’s no reason anyone should be scrolling through a feed that makes them feel bad about themselves. I try to limit my social media use to meal times…I know this sounds like a lot but think about all the times you mindlessly scroll through your social media accounts while waiting in line, in the bathroom, waiting for an appt, etc. Try and limit that & use your phone to be productive!
2. Write down three things you are grateful for EVERYDAY. I have been doing this every morning for over 2 years & I love it. It really keeps you grounded and keeps your priorities in check. For me it makes me aware of all the things I already have that I might take for granted.
3. Workout! I love working out in the morning because you never know what the day is going to throw at you so it’s nice to get this out of the way and it boosts your mood all day! I’m always so tired in the morning so the idea of doing cardio really does not speak to me LOL but doing yoga or a quick HIIT workout really gets the blood flowing and wakes me up better than coffee!
4. Speaking of coffee… Set your alarm a little earlier to enjoy your morning coffee or tea and set your goals for the day. I have a giant planner but I also put everything in my phone so I got through both to make sure there are no overlaps or missing pieces. My planner has more than my phone. For example this post and it’s content is in my planner, only, but the final walk through I have tonight is in both my phone and my planner. I also put what I’m grateful for in my planner!
5. Tell yourself 3 true affirmations and why. So if you tell yourself you are strong give yourself a reason, I’m sure surviving 2020 is reason enough for everyone but try and dig deep!

That’s all…xxTay!
