Ever just get a sudden pain right in between your shoulders & hunch over like Quasimodo?? Happens to me all of the time. I sit at a desk all day & try my best to sit up straight but through out the day I just start hunching & don’t even realize it ’til the pain starts & boom I shoot up straighter than an arrow. Why can’t I sit like this all day?? How do I help myself sit up straight all day??
Here are some tips that have helped me immensely!
I know that’s the goal but do it & try to notice when you start slouching! If it’s right away, if it’s within 15 minutes, if it’s not ’til the coffee starts wearing off. Try to catch yourself from slouching before you start!
There are so many back workouts that you can do to help with better posture.
Upright rows
Basically any type of row!
Lateral raises
Back extensions
Bent over reverse flies
Superman
Is a great way to open the chest & release tension from the back. It also helps posture with different poses & stretches!
Sit on it when you’re at home watching TV. My coworker actually has one as her desk chair! You can’t help but sit up straight when you sit on a balancing ball. It’s so helpful when begining to work on your posture!
If you hold tension in these areas & that’s why you’re constantly resembling Quasimodo then massages every once & a while will surely help relieve these muscles & help you to relax & fix your posture.
Stretching helps relieve tension as well. It may seem small but it definitely helps. Just a few 30-60 second stretches a day can work wonders!
Any exercise where your chest is open is great for your back & working on posture!
I’ve been doing these for a while now & I think my posture is getting much better. Especially thanks to the massages…AHA! Having great posture is so important & helps you walk with confidence! Like I told my best friend, Chelsea, in college when she tripped in front of her class & fell face first on the ground, pick yourself up…stand up tall, shoulders back & hold your head up high!
