Last month I briefly touched on Max & I doing sober January. Well, that gave me an idea to do a post about it, considering January is over. Well, I wanted to post it on Fitness Friday because giving up alcohol, even just limiting your intake is very beneficial to your health & productivity…lol
Since trying sober January, which turned into sober first three weeks of January lol we’ve really loved not drinking! We saved money not going out as much & got up earlier in the morning, including the weekends! We just found ourselves being a lot more productive with our free time & we lost almost 10 lbs together!
We just got back from vacation last week but leading up to our vacation we also didn’t really drink as much as we used to. Even date nights, we will pick a night to order a bottle of wine (cheaper than two glasses each) & then another night we’ll just order water (max: iced tea). On vacation we didn’t day drink like we normally do on vacation & limited our drinks at night, unless we were staying in!
Recently I’ve been feeling so sick when I drink. We went out with Max’s friends our last night in Florida & I could barely finish my drinks when we were bar hopping. The next day it worked out in my favor when I woke up feeling fine & Max woke up feeling like he was ran over by a truck!
If you’re ever thinking about doing sober January, I highly suggest it! Even if you want to try sober March! It’s never too early to start & don’t worry about slipping up. Max & I now drink on special occasions, instead of for every occasion! This being said, I don’t feel bad when I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner on a Thursday or drink some champagne at girl’s night on a Wednesday. It’s all about moderation and balance. When I’m out for a work event I don’t need a glass of wine but when I’m having girl’s night at a Mexican restaurant I definitely want a margarita! It’s all about balance! Last week, Max & I saw Blake Shelton & had a couple beers, the rest of the weekend we drank water & kombucha!
Unless you absolutely need a glass of wine after work or with dinner every night, I highly suggest cutting your alcohol intake in half & seeing what happens.
