So my friends & I started a book club in December and I have fallen back in LOVE with reading! We don’t read all the same books but once a month are going to all read the same book at the same time but mostly just circulate the books we read and then talk about them. So not your typical book club but still fun. So far this month I have read the following:
The Secrets We Keep: 4/5 This book was actually so good and very well written. Every twist and turn I never expected, including the ending. I thought this book was going to end way differently than it did and was in shock closing it. I read this with my book club and was the only one with a different opinion of the two main characters. If you’ve read or plan on reading comment down below ‘Team Rebecca’ or Team Tessa’ LOL
Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: 4/5 When I bought this book I told my mom and she said “oh that’s good, I had a lot of self help books in my 20s” and immediately thought “did I just buy a self help book?!” LOL like who cares? It’s not but it kind of felt like it was. I think that’s why I liked it so much because I felt like I learned a lot about psychology. I also, really enjoyed the story and felt connected to every person she helped. I think I liked it a lot because there were different stories throughout even though it seemed a little wordy at times.
The Dating Plan: 5/5 If you know me you know I FREECKING LOVE the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise (books, movies, actors…) & this book is like the “grown up” version of it. If you like predictable Hallmark movies then you’ll love this book!
In a Holidaze: 5/5 So good if you like light and easy reads. I love cheesy rom/com so this was right up my alley. I always get the after holiday blues so this was the perfect read after Christmas to bring back holiday joy LOL The beginning threw me a bit because I didn’t know where it was going/what to expect but I’m glad it continued the way that it did. I hope they make this into a Netflix/Hallmark movie because that’s exactly what it reminded me of!
One to Watch: 4/5 Obviously I had to like this one being about a blogger & what not LOL *trigger warning* I personally liked how the book was about body image because I know a lot of people have struggled with food and body image but I’ve never dealt with it from The main Character Bea’s perspective, which was very eye opening.
That’s all…xxTay!
