101 Essays that Will Change the Way You Think: 5/5 I love self help books. Any book that puts me in a better head space gets a 5 star rating from me.
The Postmistress of Paris: 3/5 couldn’t follow. I’m also not the biggest fan of historical fiction. If the holocaust is interests you, you may like this book. There’s a love story and a family reconnection plot that made me want to finish to see if there was going to be a happy ending during this tragic time period.
Verity: 5/5 sooo disturbing. For me a good book will make you feel so many things and this book did just that. Warning: so many triggers!
Eliza Starts a Rumor: 5/5 this was on my tbr for so long…why?? Why did I wait so long to finally read?? So good. I love books that are written with many different characters that are connected (think the movie “He’s just not that into you). Trigger warning: sexual harassment.
The Masterpiece: 5/5 Love books that line about like this. 2 stories taking place in two separate time periods but are somehow connected. A cute mystery with a twist that I wanted to have a happy ending.
The Singles Table: 5/5 Rom com fake dating. You get the drill.
The Hungover Games: 3/5 Boring. The description compares it to Bridget Jones Diary and that was very misleading. LOL I know it’s a true story but it was not what I was expecting. Again I don’t read descriptions I just happened to see the first sentence and thought I loved that movie, I suppose I should’ve kept reading. It’s more about an unplanned pregnancy and then all things about how pregnancy is awful, at least that’s what I got from this book…the author was pretty funny in a dry way which I like but I was hoping for more hungover stories not pregnancy stories.
Lucky: 5/5 edge of my seat type book and I wanted it to go on forever! I loved Lucky and only wanted her to turn up lucky! The end was really rushed and wrapped up nicely but a little to unbelievable.
The Maid: 5/5 “dead in his bed” straight to the point I guess. This book was so cute and the perfect amount of mystery! I love books about friendship and this one did not disappoint.
Like a Sister: 4/5 Predictable. So good. A little slow. So many twists and turns along the way but seeing as I knew who it was from the first mention of the characters name they all fell flat for me. I did love the friendship between Lina and Erin.
The Unsinkable Greta James: 4/5 Slow start but full of meaning. At first I thought Greta was very immature but as I read I started to connect and really understand her and grew to love her character. I also would love to go on an Alaskan cruise. LOL I love books about family reconnecting.
Dating Dr. Dil: 5/5 Rom come fake dating/enemies to lovers.
The Marriage Game: 5/5 Rom come enemies to lovers.
Verify: 4/5 Wow. This book gave me major The Giver nostalgia. Books like these are out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed it and definitely enjoy this genre, whatever that is. Verify is a word that doesn’t exist in the world amongst many other words and events in history. A young girl Marry’s mom died and she begins to uncover a lot of secrets following her death starting with a piece of paper that says Verify.
AGGGTM As Good as Dead: 5/5 almost didn’t read the final one because I really wasn’t a fan of the second one but this one wrapped up the series perfectly… A little out there but definitely worth a read!
The Push: 5/5 WTF…I wish I knew what ‘The Push’ was referring to before reading this book. If you think (like me) it’s pushing a baby out…you’re wrong. I literally felt chills run through my body when o dismissed this book.
Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘em Dead: 4/5 So many characters so little time. Again, another goofy mystery with a lot of twists and turns and a crazy storyline. If you read the first one, you know someone wants Stephen dead and this whole book is Finlay trying to find out who.
My Year Abroad: 2/5 Boring. Couldn’t finish. Good luck.
The Woman in the Window: 5/5 Didn’t see that coming. I always believed in her but wtf… A little scary but I was so invested I couldn’t stop reading. If you like mystery thrillers you’ll enjoy this one!
Lessons in Chemistry: 5/5 OMG this book! Full circle! So cute! Elizabeth Zott is a gem. Her life is such a touching and I interesting story. Her love story with Calvin and everything that followed was so unexpected! A series of unfortunate events lol
The Wife, the Maid and the Mistress: 4/5 Awe…kind of a sad ending. Wasn’t expecting that twist that’s for sure. I did get confused
A Gentleman in Moscow: 3/5 I don’t get the hype…kinda cute kinda could’ve read another book (or two) instead lol
That’s all…xoxoTay!
