I haven’t been bloated in…actually I can’t remember the last time I felt bloated. Yeah, not even during that time.
If you’ve been reading my blog you would know that I gave up coffee. Well, while I was taking classes to become a Real Estate Salesperson I started drinking A LOT of coffee, like more than I was before. I was drinking coffee in the morning, before my class & during my class.
Class was Monday & Wednesday 5:30p-10.30p & Saturday 8:30a-5p. I also work 9a-5p so I was a little tired ALL the time & barely working out. During this time I was drinking tea every day. I think this is why I never felt bloated, even though I wasn’t really taking care of myself.
Now I drink tea everyday & still don’t feel bloated! There’s also not that much caffeine in tea, especially decaf tea, I tend to reach for that in the afternoon. In the morning I usually opt for a flavored tea to start the day!
The Do’s & Don’ts to beat bloat:
Drink green tea. I really think this is the number 1 reason I don’t bloat anymore!
Drink water with lemon. You should be drinking half your body weight in ounces of water a day anyway, so why not add a little flavor to it??
Ditch the gum chewing. I hate gum. I don’t chew it, like ever. I haven’t since high school. It hurts my jaw to chew but it also sort of grosses me out…it’s basically just a chew blob of mouth bacteria… It also adds excess gas to your stomach, no thanks!
I don’t drink pop/soda. Maybe once a month I’ll have a Dr. Pepper because it’s fucking good. Other than that, pop doesn’t quench my thirst. If I want something other than water with a little flavor have an iced tea or wine!
Did I say wine? Try to avoid a lot of alcohol. I’ve been drinking less…key word less, I like a glass or two of wine a couple nights a week. You still have to live your life!
Don’t eat shitty food. You can’t be surprised if you eat fast food that you feel bloated.
Try other seasonings that aren’t salt. Even if you think you’re eating healthy you can’t expect to not be bloated if you load your healthy egg scrabble up with salt.
ACV! Yeah I know, but I’m not trying to kill you! Apple cider vinegar is the shit. Try mixing it with pineapple juice & water. Or if you like living on the edge put it in a shot glass & pray for the best! I also make salad dressing out of it!
Try fruit. A lot of fruit is easier to digest & loaded with water!
Work out. Especially your core. When you work out you feel good & you don’t want to ruin that with a shitty meal. When you look good you feel good!
Drink water!!!
Basically, it’s about changing your lifestyle. Leave Taco Tuesday for once a week & the gym for 3-5 days a week! No more Ramone noodles at 2a, yes, I’m guilty…
