Speaking of missing facials…if you read my last ‘Tea with Tay’ I talked about getting facials & how much I love them. Also, briefly mentioned I revolved both my facials & microneedling around each other LOL Well, as facials have so many benefits to the skin so does microneedling…like times 8!
Why was I furious the Tuesday before quarantine when I missed my facial?! Well, because it wasn’t just any facial…I missed my microneedling appointment! I was sitting in my friend’s chair while she was doing my hair, she works at a salon, when I realized I had a missed call and voicemail. After listening to the voicemail I checked & double checked my calendar & then, once I was done having a temper-tantrum, I called Ashley back & apologized 800 times before rescheduling my appointment.
If you’ve never heard of microneedling let me tell vous, it is life changing. It is a little needle that “punctures” the skin repeatedly! The point (aha) is to create collagen in the skin, so basically it injures the skin so that your skin produces more collagen and new skin tissue for a smoother more youthful look.
It really has helped me with acne scars, which is the main reason I started going. Also with some fine lines & smoother more even skin on my cheeks which has been such a problem for me for years!
If you’re wondering if it hurts, yes. LOL I have a pretty good pain tolerance when it comes to piercings and tattoos but when that needle hits my forehead my eyes water uncontrollably. After she leaves my forehead in the dust everything else feels fine but damn… I always tell her I’m so happy she starts with my forehead to get it over with!
Definitely do your research if you are thinking about getting this treatment done. Look up different places & read reviews. Don’t just go anywhere!!
SOOOO, that is why I was so upset about missing my appointment & even more upset now that my schedule is so thrown off but also V understanding & patiently waiting for places to open up. I mean, I can’t be that vain…
Also, you need to be consistent. It’s definitely a process but I’m so happy I brought this treatment into my skincare routine! For now, Ashley said, this is a more natural version of anti-aging as opposed to Botox, which I wanted to try but wasn’t ready to take the plunge. So for now this will do & I am very pleased with my results!
That’s all…xxTay!
