I do LOVE cooking with it, though! make eggs almost every morning for breakfast or else I make a bowl of oatmeal with almond butter. BUT when I make my eggs i start by heating up a pan with coconut oil…YUMM! It gives it a different taste than olive oil.
Anyway, this post isn’t about using coconut oil for cooking, it’s about everything else you can use it for!
The most gentle way to remove your make-up. I have been using coconut oil to remove my make-up since college! It is the easiest way to remove your makeup & a little goes a long way. Just take about 1/2 tbs and rub lightly over your face & don’t forget your eyes. It is the best for removing stubborn mascara! I always wash my face after I use coconut oil & pat dry because it sometimes clogs my pores. BUT I leave or add a little under my eyes & on top of my cheek bones for a natural glow & moisturizer!
Speaking of…this stuff is gold for dry skin! Any extra on my hands I just rub in. NEVER let this stuff go to waste by wiping it off! Add more if you need to it’s great for dry elbows & heals!
Hair Mask/Leave-in Conditioner!
Use it for the ends of your hair after styling or mix it with an egg & let sit & rinse! There are so many ingredients you can add to coconut oil to make different hair treatments depending on your need for it!
THIS! I LOVE oil pulling. I usually do it in the shower because I’m not talking to anyone & I can just relax.I started doing this when my manager was super into coconut oil about 6 years ago. So i did my own research & turns out it’s good for people with TMJ & helps relieve migraines! Sign me up! Just take 1/2 tbs- 1 tbs & swish in your mouth for 10-20 minutes depending on how much you can take & spit in the garbage NOT down the drain. When coconut oil is not in it’s oil form it hardens, therefor it will clog your drains!
Nothing can ruin a good manicure like dry & cracked cuticles! Rub in some coconut oil before bed & you’ll be shocked at what your nails look like in the morning! Take a little tin of it on the go for nails & lip balm!
There are so many benefits from coconut oil, you can mix it with brown sugar & make an exfoliate…mix it with honey for an acne mask…mix it with baking soda to make tooth paste…the list is NEVER ending, along with the benefits. If you’re not on the coconut oil train, get on it!
Happy Tuesday!
That’s all…xxTay!
